Hours – 2025 (see also pictures from the dailyday at the school and the weekly schedule):
A-subject = 7,5 hours pr. week
B-subject = 4 hours pr. week (Mondays)
C-subject = 2 hours pr. week (Friday afternoons)
When you apply to enroll at the school, you will choose your two preferred A-subjects. You will have the same two A-subjects for the duration of your højskole experience. At Bornholms Højskole we have 4 days with your two main subjects (A subjects). That is 7.5 hours with the first A subject (Tuesday-Wednesday) and 7.5 hours with the second A subject (Thursday-Friday).
On Monday and Friday we have elective subjects that you choose from when you arrive at the school. These will be your B-subjects and C-subjects. There are two elective periods in the autumn and three elective periods in the spring. Monday’s B subject lasts 4 hours, Friday’s C subject lasts 2 hours.
You can see below some of the elective subjects we have offered in the past, but keep in mind that some of them that are not necessarily offered every semester, and there will also be some that are not listed here yet. When you choose your subjects, you’ll either get your first, second, or third choice, based on each subject’s popularity.
Please note that we never quite know the exact amount of subejcts before your arrival. This depends on the teachers and their capacities and their skills in English.
